Jack Higgins is a Las Vegas musician whose EP Red Hot Burning Love needed artwork that felt as warm and alive as the music itself. He came to me direct in 2023 with a clear instinct — something psychedelic, something from the 70s, something that felt like love with the volume turned all the way up. We developed the direction together, and that collaboration showed in the final work.

The process started with research — deep dives into 70s album art, psychedelic illustration, the visual language of that era's soul and funk records. From there, hand-drawn sketches. Figures almost kissing, flames overhead, rainbows and flowers and stars surrounding them. The kind of image that communicates the feeling of a song before you've heard a single note. Once the sketches landed, I moved into Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop — vector overlay, color blocking, texture. The warmth in the final piece comes from that hand-drawn foundation. You can feel the pencil under the pixels.

The illustration became the center of a full visual identity — artist logo, album cover, vinyl sleeve, promotional posters in multiple formats, and merchandise. Everything flows from the same psychedelic world we built together.
